There are beautiful roses, and then there are roses with a story and purpose that make them even more meaningful. 'Youth Without Limits' is one of those special varieties.
Bred by the world-renowned experts at Harkness Roses in support of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, this outstanding new Floribunda was launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2026, as the DofE marks an incredible 70 years of helping young people realise what they are capable of.
Better still, every rose purchased contributes directly to that work.
For every 'Youth Without Limits' rose sold, £5 is donated to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, supporting the charity as it gives more young people opportunities to build confidence, resilience, valuable skills and belief in themselves.
A remarkable cause deserves a remarkable rose, and Harkness have created exactly that.
Its generously petalled, perfectly rounded flowers grow to around 9cm across and appear in glorious clusters of rich golden amber and warm yellow. As the blooms develop, their petals gradually fade towards creamy ivory, while the outer edges take on a warm pink blush. The changing tones mean every flower develops its own character as it matures.
There is a lovely fragrance as well, with a delicate spicy perfume carrying subtle notes of clove and cinnamon.
'Youth Without Limits' also has all the garden performance expected from a Harkness rose. Glossy, dark-green foliage is strong, healthy and impressively disease resistant, while its compact growth, reaching approximately 75cm tall and 60cm wide, makes it a superb choice for rose beds, mixed borders or a generous patio container.
It repeat flowers too, producing new clusters throughout the summer for a long-lasting display that returns beautifully year after year.
'Youth Without Limits' represents the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to find out what they can achieve.
Grow it at home and you will be adding a beautiful new British-bred rose to your garden while also helping another young person develop, flourish and fulfil more of their potential.
A truly special rose supporting a very special cause.
£5 from every rose sold will be donated to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, registered charity number 1072490.
Supplied as a bare root rose, ready to plant.
A Message from the Charity:
Since 1956, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) has helped millions of young people build lasting self-belief and live their life without limits.
Open to any young person aged 14-24, participants build their own programmes in order to achieve a Bronze, Silver, or Gold DofE Award. Young people choose activities and a cause to volunteer for - discovering hobbies such as gardening which can become a lifelong passion, boosting their wellbeing and community ties.
As we look to the next 70 years as a charity, we are continuing to champion confidence, resilience, and opportunity for every young person, everywhere. Every purchase of the Youth Without Limits rose will help us to do this, so that even more young people can take part in a life-changing DofE experience.
