Description

Deep crimson blooms and an intense perfume - few roses stop people in their tracks quite like the historic Rose 'Guinée'. This is a dramatic, romantic climber with flowers that swirl with velvet crimson petals, releasing waves of rich, heady scent on the warm summer air.

Originating in the 1930s, 'Guinée' remains just as popular today for fragrance and climbing style. When in bloom, it drapes its long stems with large, double flowers of deep scarlet, glowing richly against glossy green foliage. On a sunny wall, fence or archway, it makes an unforgettable feature.

Growing up to around 5 metres tall, it's ideal for creating height and impact in the garden, while the repeat flowering habit ensures months of colour and perfume.

'Guinée' is remarkably vigorous and fully hardy once established. It thrives in a warm, sheltered spot with good soil, and rewards regular feeding with a renewed surge of flowers each year.

Supplied as a bare root rose, ready to plant.
