Description

Rose 'Jacques Cartier' is a heritage variety that shines in modern gardens with rich fragrance, compact growth and generous repeat flowering. Also known as 'Marchesa Boccella', this Old Rose captures the essence of traditional charm while remaining easy to grow and reliably hardy.

The blooms are large and fully double, with ruffled petals in rich pink tones. Each flower is perfectly shaped, featuring a signature button-eye centre. The scent is powerful and lingering.

Growing to around 90cm tall, this compact shrub forms a rounded, bushy habit clothed in dark green, leathery leaves. It's ideal for planting in borders, alongside paths or in groups where the scent can be fully appreciated. The continuous flowering habit ensures colour throughout summer and into autumn.

An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder, 'Jacques Cartier' is a reliable performer. It stands up well to wet weather, resists common rose diseases, and delivers repeat flushes of bloom with minimal fuss. Its resilience makes it suitable for gardeners at every level of experience.

Supplied as a bare root rose, ready to plant.
