For lovers of old-fashioned roses, 'de Rescht' is a treasure. This compact Damask rose is renowned for its powerful fragrance, exquisite double blooms and long flowering season.
The flowers are a rich shade of purple-crimson, opening in tightly packed rosettes with a small button eye - classically shaped, beautifully formed and bursting with petals. The scent is warm, sweet and nostalgic, carrying easily through the garden.
From summer to autumn, the plant produces generous clusters of blooms above its deep green, textured foliage. Compact and bushy, it reaches around 90cm tall and wide, making it ideal for smaller gardens, cottage-style borders or pots near a patio or doorway.
Though it belongs to the ancient Damask rose group, 'de Rescht' is every bit at home in a modern garden. It's hardy, reliable and surprisingly easy to care for, rewarding even beginner gardeners with months of blooms and heavenly scent.
