Description
A remarkable Hybrid Tea rose that is just waiting to impress. The ‘Dr. Susan Michaelis’ rose exudes magnificence and produces plants that are strong, upright, and demonstrate resilience.
Dark green glossy foliage forms a base for high pointed buds, which open to reveal blooms of more than 40 petals in a deep cerise pink shade, with flecks of silvery white. Even as the flowers start to fade, they remain vibrant and the cerise colouring deepens to purple.
Very few thorns grow on the stems of ‘Dr. Susan Michaelis’, making it an excellent candidate for cut flowers. A subtle, yet spicy perfume is released by the blooming rose, which only intensifies on warm summer evenings.
This rose is named after former airline pilot Dr. Susan Michaelis, who set up the ‘Lobular Moon Shot Project’ to raise awareness of Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2013.
£2.50p from the sale of each Dr. Susan Michaelis Rose will be paid to The Institute of Cancer Research, London (ICR) to support their lobular breast cancer (ILC) research fund.
Supplied as a bare root rose ready for planting out.
Please note: On rare occasions we may run out of stock of bare root plants. Should this happen, we may upgrade your bare root to a potted rose of the same variety for the same price.
