It is hard not to notice the delightfully rich golden colour that shines from this popular rose. Despite its name, there is nothing ‘simple’ about the striking semi-double flowers that repeatedly bloom in clusters during the summer months.
Well-kept buds start to open in a red shade, before quickly being overwhelmed by a sea of gold. The open flowerheads reveal a charming set of stamens that appear to play on a bed of golden petals.
These delightful colours only seem to stand out more, thanks to the stark contrast formed against the light green glossy foliage. ‘Simple Gold’ is perfect for brightening up beds, borders, hedges, and big patio planters.
Roses, such as ‘Simple Gold’, play an important role in ecosystems producing food for pollinators such as bees and hoverflies. We always endeavour to provide beautifully formed plants; however, our roses will naturally start to lose their leaves from October to prepare for the colder months. Do not worry though, as they will flourish once again with leaves and buds in the spring.
